Why Choose a Can-Am® Maverick Trail
Can-Am® Maverick Trail
Have a passion for trail riding? Then Can-Am®’s Maverick Trail model is the UTV you need to try. It’s the narrowest Can-Am® SideXSide, built to perform on long rides and new, raw trails. It’s reliable, capable, and a whole lot of fun!
As you probably know, the U.S. Forest Service and other state agencies limit exploring the back country on forest trails to powered vehicles 50-inches wide or less. So while the Maverick Trail delivers the thrills you expect from larger Can-Am® UTVs, it can go places its big brothers can’t.
Comfortable? Of Course
Better yet, it takes on the trails with a remarkable amount of rider comfort. Can-Am® designed the cockpit shape for additional occupant space, while still keeping the slender silhouette of the vehicle. The cab configuration of the Trail is called “Ergo-Lok” by Can-Am®, and it places occupants in a center-cab configuration. There’s plenty of room for legs, arms and shoulders, even for occupants taller than 5 ‘8”.
Of course, it’s not as room as a full-sized UTV, but you’ll forgive it for that once you’re squeezing down trails the larger machines can’t handle.
The tilt steering wheel swings up and down a total 25-degrees, and the driver’s seat moves forward and back five-inches. You’ll also find a 4.50-inch digital display mounted to the steering wheel, so you can see all the vitals at a glance. And there’s plenty of storage in the factory glove box.
Safety Built Into The Design
The Maverick Trail features doors that fully encase both driver and passenger access points. The 12-in wide front push bar, originally designed to help you push a dead UTV when needed, also works to protect the vehicle and occupants from unexpected obstacles on the trail. The Maverick Trail does not come with a roof, front windshield or mirrors, so the push bar is a good added safety element.
You’ll notice, too, that the very capable front and rear suspensions give you excellent control on washboard trails. And the DPS (Dynamic Power Steering) provides increased assistance at walking speeds to reduce steering effort; at higher speeds assistance is lessened to allow the driver maximum steering feel. Not only does this smooth your ride, but it makes it easier on your arm muscles, too. (A feature you’ll especially appreciate if your trail rides tend to be sun-up to sun-down excursions.)
Add to that the new advanced CVT transmission and Selectable 2WD / 4WD with Visco-Lok auto-locking front differential, and you’ll have maximum control under all conditions.
In fact, for extra safety, the Trail also has Electronic Hill Descent Control, meant to slow the inevitable pull of gravity when heading down a steep grade.
Plus Other Features You Expect From Can-Am®
The Trail comes with a 4-stroke, 976 cc V-Twin rated at 75 horsepower. The Trail’s Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) fuel delivery system is Can-Am®’s Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC). This innovation means the system is throttled electronically by wire, rather than by a mechanical cable. The transmission is Can-Am®’s Quick Response System (QRS) CVT (constant velocity transmission) with high-airflow ventilation and Electronic Drive Belt Protection.
Ground clearance is 10 inches, and the Trail comes with skid plates to help protect the undercarriage. Carlise ACT tires are factory installed, and handle trail conditions well.
And because you can ride the Trail in ECO mode, you can feel pretty confident that even with lower fuel than expected (the tank holds 10 gallons), you can ask the machine to sip its way down the trails.
Optional Add-Ons Available
If you’d like, you can add on a roof, full glass windshield, rear window, mirror, sound system and storage compartment for the rear bed. We can supply all these for you.
